Pueblo Science

Pueblo Science's programs were delivered both virtually and in-person from Oct2023 to Sept 2024. Ongoing programs include: 1. Workshops and training sessions in experimental science for children teachers of children and the general public in Canada and in low-income countries. 2. In-class virtual visits for children in Canada and Philippines that provide students with practical hands-on learning opportunities in conducting scientific experiments. 3. Workshops for grade 3 to 12 teachers on activities and methods to teach science in the Philippines and Indonesia. The workshop provide teachers in these countries with skills in teaching science to children through experiential learning. 4. Science festivals in Ontario to bring interactive science activities to children parents of children and the general public. 5. Science at Home video creation to provide children and parents hands-on activities that they can do using materials that they have at home. 7. STEM enrichment in Indigenous Communities program - in-class virtual and in-person visits to K to 12 classrooms in First Nation communities. 8. Techno Fair - a weeklong program to help students create a science project that solves community problems. Introduction to Robotics – Develop simple easy-to-program robots and corresponding lesson plans for curriculum integration. The robots can be programmed using Blockly for younger students and C++ for older ones. Programming can be done using cellphones or tablets making it accessible across different learning environments.
