Progress place is dedicated to improving the lives of people living with mental illness. Progress place offers programs and services which provide opportunities for recovery through friendship employment education housing and recreation in a welcoming and accessible environment of support respect and dignity. Progress place is open 365 days per year with over 86 000 program visits. Additionally progress place offers the following programs in the community: the double recovery program which offers peer-based meetings for people living with mental illness and struggling with substance abuse; the warm line a peer support telephone text and email service available 7 days per week from 6pm to 12am; the st. James town seniors corner which engages seniors 55+ living with mental illness in various activities which help foster friendships and sense of community; and the weston mount dennis community place hub located in a neighbourhood improvement area which provides support to community members of all ages by offering needed programs and services we well as assisting individuals in navigating the health care system.
