Port Hope Friends of Music

Friends of Music (FOM) has a greater than 40 year history of presenting classical music concerts in Northumberland often accompanied by educational programs in schools in Northumberland. No concerts or programs were presented in 2021-2022 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. However as restrictions were gradually being reduced FOM resumed planning for concerts that took place in 2022-2023. This was followed by one concert in 2023-2024 based on a style that was successful in 2022-2023. We hosted two concerts in 2023-2024 - taking place as 'house concerts' in the Northumberland County countryside. There is a strong appetite for this format and we foresee this will be continued in future. It has also provided an excellent opportunity to showcase young Canadian musicians who are 'on their way up' as well as established Canadian artists.
