About PLEDJ: Promoting Leadership for Empowerment Development and Justice
Resilience and empowerment the first component is focused on resilience and self-empowerment. This component will assist participats who may have experienced trauma and loss to rebuild their self confidence and regain control ove their own lives. Reflection on their experiences and recognition of the changes in their lives and how this impacts them their families and their communities will serve as a starting point for their process of empowerment which is essentiel to be able to support others. Students will benefit from expert training by dr amal elsana with support from a psycho-social support expertcommunity practice and project planning the second componenet of the program will introduce the participants to the basic concepts of community work such as community organizing strategies and leadership as well as community project planning from the first stages of mapping a community`s strenghts and needs to identifying and addressing specific problems. The students will learn about the political systen in quebec and canada the service system and the policy environment students will also learn how to plan community projects build a project budjet fundraising strategies and how to market their projects to donors
