Performing Arts B.C. Festivals Society

Pabc society : 1. Organizes and produces an annual provincial-level performing arts festival for youth in bc in the disciplines of music dance and speech arts. 2024’s event was held in fort st john and was very well attended. Participants earn the right to advance to this event through their high level of performance at one of our 33 member festivals located throughout the province. Written and oral feedback was provided by 18 mentors and clinicians from across canada .additional masterclasses and workshops were also provided. Outstanding performers at the provincial level are nominated to proceed to the canada west festival. 2. The society tracks member festival statistics. 3. Produces an annual mentor /clinical directory . 4. An annual syllabus and 5. Provides and update and assistance to member groups throughout the year. 6. Two meetings a year are offered for the membership providing a forum for idea exchanges as well as conducting the business of the society. These meetings are still on zoom as there is better attendance when travel is not required. The provincial board meets via zoom as needed and management is provided by the executive director. 2024 will see the instruction of a virtual choral speaking class to further encourages group participation for all ages from around the province.
