About Pembroke Community Choir
The Pembroke Community Choir (PCC) is a non-auditioned group of 60 - 90 people of all ages and musical abilities. The choral season begins in September and ends in April the following year. During the fiscal year we performed 3 concerts - 'Christmas Around The World' on December 02 and 03 2023 and Brahms' Requiem on April 21 2024 We also sang Christmas Carols in public places in Pembroke in December 2023 (including the Public Library) and performed 2 shorter concerts at Carefor Pembroke Civic Complex and at Chartwell Pembroke Heritage Retirement Residence on November 25 2023 The PCC strives to develop music programs which are pleasing to the widest range of audiences as well as potential singers. After last season's April concert we saw the largest influx of new singers in the following September registration. Both our Christmas concerts were nearly sold out despite adverse winter weather conditions a testimony of the popularity of our programs. To be able to present new music the singers had to learn songs in different languages than English or French a challenge to say the least but it also contributed to the understanding of music of other cultures.
