About Peaks to Pines Residents Association
The Peaks to Pines Residents Association provides assistance and transportation for social outings community activities shopping and appointments to relieve conditions and disabilities associated with aging to residents affected by these conditions and promotes and enhances health wellness and quality of life for the aging population in the community by providing amenities facilities and services for these purposes. In addition to the 9 volunteer Board members the Association has 8 volunteers who work in a Tuck Shop 2 hours per day 5 days per week. The Tuck Shop offers snacks and treats as well as toiletries for residents of Peaks to Pines Seniors Lodge. The Peaks to Pines Residents Association launched an assisted transportation project for older adults and persons with mobility challenges in the community. A grant from Healthy Aging Alberta enabled the purchase of a 4-passenger wheelchair-accessible van. In 2024 a part-time Transportation Coordinator/Driver was recruited for the service which began in April of that year. This individual provides the local trips throughout the Crowsnest Pass and coordinates volunteer drivers for out-of-town trips to Pincher Creek Lethbridge and Calgary.
