About Peace River Regional Women's Shelter Society
1. Residential program provides safe short-term accommodations to women leaving abusive relationships and other women in need. 2. Child care program provides a variety of activities for children who are residents of the shelter. 3. Outreach/follow-up program provides weekly home visits to ex-residents setting up their own households along with assisting non-resident abused women. 4. Public education program provides information sessions on abuse related topics. 5. Intensive case management team provides intentional and intensive specialized support services tailored to the unique needs of women/children/youth leaving or experiencing family violence. Second stage shelter will be accessible to individuals who identify as women over the age of 18 and their dependent children under the age of 18 having past and/or current experiences of abuse from a partner family member(s) caregiver(s) or members of the community being at risk of violence from a partner’s family member(s) caregiver(s) or members of the community and/or dealing with ongoing social and/or health impacts resulting from experiences of violence that affect safety health and wellbeing. Second stage shelter will provide at a minimum a safe and secure living accommodation.
