Agriculture research program includes both farm-scale and small plot research trials and demonstrations carried out at various sites across the peace country. Research findings are made available to the general public both through our website and social media accounts as well as a printed annual report. Some of our research reports are also published in peer-reviewed scientific journals and much of the information is also presented at workshops seminars and conferences. The primary goal of our research program is to develop and adapt farming and ranching techniques that are environmentally sustainable. Agriculture extension program designed to further education in the field of agriculture with a particular focus on the peace country region of alberta. The program includes an average of 30-40 events hosted per year which includes workshops seminars pasture walks field days plot tours webinars and conferences. The events feature expert speakers which may include the expertise of our own staff or speakers from our local region elseware in alberta across canada or even international. The program also includes the production of written educational materials and a podcast as well as technical bulletins factsheets and videos all of which are distributed at no charge. The primary focus of the educational materials produced through our extension program is environmentally sustainable farming and ranching practices. Technical services in order to promote and maintain efficiency and high standards of practice in the agriculture industry pcbfa offers technical assistance and training on the implementation of best management practices for individuals engaged in the agriculture industry. Cropping program pcbfa farms about 230 acres of leased land which generates funds used to sustain our research and extension programs.
