About Pacific Immigrant Resources Society
Pirs' mission is to ensure that immigrant and refugee women and their families can participate fully in canadian community life. We do this by providing neighbourhood-based group programs that address language childcare and financial barriers. Our programs provide isolated immigrant and refugee women with the skills and confidence needed to access resources and services and to function more independently and effectively in their roles as family and community members. On site children's programs enable the participation of women with young children; providing opportunities to address issues related to child development and parenting in a multicultural society. Pirs also delivers home-based settlement services and education programs for significantly vulnerable and marginalized women and families.
