About Pacific Animal Therapy Society
The pacific animal therapy society (pats) is a volunteer-driven pet therapy organization that has served vancouver island for over 30 years to bring joy to people of all ages and backgrounds through visits to health care facilities care home retirement communities school universities and private residences. For example pats volunteers and their dogs help young students improve their reading skills through the paws and tales literacy program which is offered in schools and libraries. Pats also partners with local high school and post-secondary institutions to provide well-attended 'de-stress' events giving studens a chance to benefit from pet therapy by relieving stress during challenging times in the school year.
