Oxfam canada this year spanned 21 countries focusing on various humanitarian and development initiatives. In jamaica we address gender-based violence (gbv) through social norm changes and advocacy. In nicaragua we empower civil society for women's rights. In the philippines ethiopia mozambique malawi and sambia we enhance sexual and reproductive health and rights (srhr). In kenya guatemala and bangladesh we support women's economic empowerment and domestic workers' rights while in guatemala nicaragua and pakistan we supported transformative leadership. We respond to crises such as floods in pakistan earthquakes in indonesia syria turkiye and cyclones/hurricanes in myanmar philippines and cuba by providing cash assistance shelter and wash services. Additionally we aid displaced populations in myanmar south sydan lebanon and ethiopia with comprehensive humanitarian responses including srhr protection services and education for refugees and internally displaced persons. Through these projects we work with local civil society organizations many of those women's rights organizations. This year we opened new projects in seven countries focusing on various humanitarian and development projects. In mexico we are addressing the aftermath or hurricane otis by providing wash and gender protection services. In somalia we provided cash assistance to those affected by el nino floods while in kenya we improved wash access food security and gbv protection for food-displaced individuals. Our projects in the philippines supported earthquake and floor-affected families with shelter cash assistance and hygiene promotion. In gaza we are addressing food security wash and protection for 10 500 people impacted by conflict. Additionally the care connect initiative in the philippines and indonesia empowers women domestic workers through rights promotion and advocacy impacting 5 148 individuals directly and 4.6 million indirectly.
