Ottawa First Responders Foundation

New programs. During this fiscal period the Ottawa First Responders Foundation (OFRF) continued to provide access to mental health services for first responders and their families in the Ottawa region. The Foundation directly funded therapy sessions with licensed clinicians including trauma-informed and culturally competent care. OFRF maintained its wellness referral and peer support program helping individuals access early intervention and recovery resources. Volunteers supported these efforts through program coordination outreach and service navigation. New this year OFRF piloted a small sponsorship program to support like-minded community initiatives and began early planning for a permanent wellness centre for first responders in Ottawa. Over 1 000 volunteer hours contributed to the delivery of these programs ensuring continued support for first responders’ mental health and well-being.
