Ottawa Amitabha Buddhist Society of Canada

Our mission is to provide the following services to the community without fees: 1. Invite buddhist venerables from overseas and canada to give dharma talks and lectures on buddhism with a new view to promote teaching and advancing the buddha dharma; 2. Have weekly gatherings (chanting amitabha) and dharma talks and provide special events on long weekends and holidays; 3. Provide city wide distribution of free buddhist books dvds and vcds for public education; 4. Raise funds to support overseas disasters and local charity organizations; 5. Provide the thrice yearning memorial ceremony to the public twice per year; 6. Provide free organizations of buddhist burial ceremonies and grief counseling; 7. Provide day-long gathering (chanting amitabha for a whole day) twice per month; 8. Provide activities to the public such as vegetarian cooking classes. 1.
