Orillia Concert Band

We continue to provide an opportunity for local amateur musicians to rehearse and perform music. We perform 4 concerts a year alone with a fundraising concert for a specific local charity. This year it was to assist hillcrest lodge a non-profit low income residence for seniors. We also perfrom several concerts in local retirement residences especially at christmas time. The band performs at each concert and often feature local amateur singers and groups including local children's choirs. We have had an extraordinary year. After covid we have found that people are looking for live performances. We also had exceptional guest artist at our spring concert. Response was so high that we added an extra performance. These special performances had a very positive effect on our income. With this income we were finally able to purchase more badly needed percussion equipment this year. In addition we were able to increase our student awards given at three local high schools and double the number of our donations to local charities.
