Options bytown is a non-profit organization that provides supportive housing in ottawa on combining affordable housing with on-site counselling training and other services for people who need help to live independently. We help people who face social isolation and other challenges such as poverty a history of homelessness or special needs that may relate to mental illness or substance use. We operate three buildings owned by ottawa community housing corporation and one building owned by centretown community citizens ottawa corporation. We also provide on-site support services to tenants living in eight ochc high rise communities and case management services to tenants at risk of homelessness living in 19 ccoc apartment buildings. Options bytown provides case management services to 150 of the longest stay homeless shelter residents in ottawa to find them independent housing in the community help them learn independent life skills set up their households and connect with the appropriate social medical and income supports they need to stay housed. The pace program employs ottawa community housing tenants across the city as poor support workers to provide supports to tenants in ochc communities. Pace promotes tenant mental wellness by providing crisis supports linking tenants with resources and reducing isolation through programming and activities. The hoarding assistance team (hat) provides intensive case management supports to people living in supportive housing.
