Founded in 1997 we are part of a global Non-Profit group of organizations that develop sustainable finance-based solutions to give people the tools they need to break the cycle of poverty. The Opportunity global network and its partners annually reach an estimated 18.7 million families with access to tailored financial services relevant training and support groups—solutions that empower low-income families especially mothers to grow small businesses farms and schools earn a sustainable income invest in the health and well-being of their families and send their children to school effectively ending the generational cycle of poverty for some of the most vulnerable families in the world. Clients in over 28 countries around the world use these services to start or expand a business provide for their families create jobs for their neighbours and build a safety net for the future. Our Vision is a World in which all people have th opportunity to achieve a life free from poverty with dignity and purpose. Our mission is to provide financial solution sand training we empower people living in poverty to transform their lives their children's future and their communities. Our Motivation is to respond to Jesus's call to love and serve the poor. we serve all people regardless of race faith ethnicity and gender. Charity Intelligence nominated our charity as one of Top 100 rated Charities in 2024. Opportunity International Canada has changed their Fiscal year end from December 31st to June 30th. Information filed in this return is only from January 1 to June 30 2024. Most of our disbursements to the field and program activities take place between July and December of each year.
