Ontario Provincial Federation of Chapters of the Council Forexceptional Children

Professional development opportunities for special educators paraprofessionals system leaders and families through an annual provincial conference in the fall and peer reviewed professional resources articles webinars and networking which are available to members and non-members through the Ontario website https://ontario.exceptionalchildren.org and links to the International CEC website. Funding is provided through annual chapter rebates and grants for chapters and subdivisions. This allows them to host keynote speakers workshops innovative classroom projects and other local /provincial professional development opportunities as well as their local events recognizing children and youth their parents and their educators/support personnel. Recognition is achieved through local and provincial 'Yes I Can' awards presented to children and youth with disabilities gifts and talents as well as awards recognizing excellence among teachers educational leaders paraprofessionals and student teachers in the field. Communication with members occurs throughout the year through the use of email social media and through community discussion opportunities on the website. An annual general meeting is held during the Provincial Conference. Both in person and virtual attendance is available.
