Ontario Employment Education and Research Centre

1. Assist workers who experience violations of their rights; 2. Produce and disseminate public education materials on rights at work; 3. Develop and facilitate educational workshops on rights at work; 4. Develop and facilitate leadership development programs for workers with a focus on migrant workers and workers in low-wage and precarious work to: - encourage civic engagement - build confidence to enforce their rights under employment legislation - develop skills to share their learning with other members of their community and raise awareness of employment issues; 5. Produce statistics/research on workplace violations and other issues surrounding employment; 6. Mentor/train staff at other community agencies and organizations on workers' rights; 7. Uphold the values and spirit of employment legislation by identifying gaps and advocating for legislative improvements to wages and working conditions; 8. Raise public awareness of issues facing workers through public presentations community outreach media coverage and digital platforms; and 9. Support development of organizations and groups advancing workers' rights and raising awareness around employment issues.
