About Ontario Association for Families of Children with Communicat
1. Parent resource information-provide families with information on communication disorders and available services 2. Parent support activities-connect parents with other parents by phone at workshops and meetings or though the internet 3. Public awareness activities-distribute information about communication disorders and their impact on children through brochures posters websites videos and information displays all work is conducted by volunteers inclucing board members who develop new resources update the website answer calls and e-mails from families. Six volunteers are involved in advisory committees at the school board level and one volunteer attends and prepares submissions for government consultation. Social media-building of social media presence to help increase public and parent awareness of speech and language disorders.
