About One Girl Can Society

One Girl Can gives some of the world’s most vulnerable high-potential girls a chance to rise above extreme poverty and gender inequality. Through education training and mentoring girls are empowered to achieve their goals earn a meaningful living and build better lives — for themselves their families and their communities. Our programs are organized under 3 pillars: 1. We Educate - We provide high school and university scholarships to girls and young women in Kenya so they can access quality education and have the opportunity to pursue a career and be empowered to live an independent life. We provide vocational and technical training to give girls access to secure stable jobs through employment or self-employment and help break down gender biases. We also build and modernize schools so that girls have access to safe schools. 2. We Train – We have an Internship Program that pairs students with businesses in their field of study giving them real-life work experience and opportunities to build their confidence and professional network. In partnership with the UBC Sauder School of Business our Entrepreneurial Training Academy gives university graduates knowledge and support to start their own business. 3. We Mentor – Empower Me Workshops and Mentor Clubs are offered to 11 000+ high school students each year with highly tailored curriculum to help girls establish deep-rooted self-confidence and provide them with the tools and strategies necessary to achieve success. Our University Mentorship Program supports young women to create a vision for their life and develop a plan to achieve it. We host an Annual Leadership Conference in Nairobi Kenya for university students to refine their vision and goals further and gain confidence in public speaking professional etiquette handling their schedules and finances and planning for their future careers. Our One-on-one Mentoring program connects aspiring young women with accomplished leaders globally as well as
