Ocean camp field trip program: this 4 hour program is designed to educate students on the unique biodiversity of various waterways such as the strait of georgia and burrard inlet. The curriculum also provide participants with a firsthand look at the impact of pollution in the enivironment and how to use their observations to further their understanding on the ecosystems in this region. It also deals with the human history within the region including the history of the first nations as well as the recent efforts of the local community to foster sustainable resource management in the region.gumboots field trip program: this 2.5 hour program for grade 2 students takes place at the beach where students explore the intertidal zone learn about how our local first nations use and have used the intertidal zone as an important source of food and other supplies learned about the tradition of respect for the ocean that is part of our first nations' cultures how plastics are made and how they break down how plastics enter the environment and how they are affecting marine life. Students are challenged to think about how they can take action at home and at school. Tiderider adventure camp summer program: oac worked with small business communities to help them to launch initiatives to reduce their use of single-use plastics.
