About Oakville Community Foundation
For 30 years the Foundation has been building Community through Philanthropy As a 360-degree granting organization we grant to local and national organizations to support the entire range of charitable activities. Our community-based research as well as knowledge about the charitable sector helps us facilitate collaborative solutions with strategic impact. Community Classroom- free arts culture environment and heritage curriculum based programming for elementary students in both Halton publicly funded school systems. Halton Youth Collective - A wraparound program with local service provider partners to support youth transitioning from care of the Halton Children’s Aid Society to be satisfied in their employment education and training. GIVEOakville - online community granting program that enables local crowdfunding for charities amplifying these donations using The Foundation’s own community grant funds including a pool of funds for charities focused on gender equity and racialized communities. Women’s Giving Collective -A women’s philanthropy group that grants strategically while building a long-term program to support their priority areas. Debwewin: the Oakville Truth Project - continued in partnership with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation (MCFN) and led by an MCFN Elder to increase our shared understanding of Indigenous history in our community. Community Education Awards Hub - one-stop free online source for students to access numerous community scholarships bursaries and awards. Reconciliation Equity and Anti-Racism - The Foundation holds itself accountable to its published Reconciliation Equity and Anti-Racism Statement including an online course on reconciliation equity and anti-racism to help local charities. As a signatory to the Canadian Philanthropy Commitment on Climate Change the Foundation released The Oakville Climate Report and started an Urban Tree Fund planting 300 trees.
