About Niagara Regional Literacy Council
Niagara regional literacy council founded in 1978 is a community-based not-for-profit organization dedicated to increasing literacy. Our trained volunteer tutors assist adults with reading writing numeracy workplace computer and life skills. Mission: to assist adults in achieving a more productive and satisfying lifestyle through literacy upgrading. The council offers free instruction in employment computer upgrading including assisted job search and resume writing. Instruction in pre-g.e.d; ready for work programs such as office clerk grounds maintenance kitchen help janitorial help; whmis and general upgrading to exam level. One-on-one and small group instruction is available in literacey and computer. Financial literacy. Computer classes in word excel and basic keyboarding. Skills for success - working with underrepresented groups for upgrading with employment related idgital requirments. This includes job search creating employment documents staying safe on-line creating and editing study skills and much more.
