Nepali Heritage Charity Foundation of BC (NHCF)

Nhcf continued monthly 'free hot meals' program for unhoused people at whalley neighborhood at 106 avenue and king george blvd surrey bc in ongoing partnership with nightshift street ministries. We served meals to almost 1000 individuals this fiscal year. Nhcf continued educational scholarship program to more then 120 children in poverty in various schools in nepal. Even though supported amounts were not disbursed during this reporting period due to timing issues nhcf has maintained continued partnership with following 5 schools to help us distribute the educational packages to beneficiary students: 1.bindhyabasini secondary school. Barpatan kaski nepal 2. Dudhir basic school. Juwapani bajura nepal 3. Sharada english school. Pokhara kaski nepal 4. Sundara devi basic school. Bidur nuwakot nepal 5. Rudrepipal secondary school baglung nepal in order to utilize our support funds in the most appropriate manner nhcf continues to review and improve our scholarship selection criteria. Nhcf also reviews specifics about materials support (such as carry bags notebooks lunch boxes pencils erasers etc) provided to the schools. Nhcf has been in close contact with administrator of all schools to discuss which items are most useful for the students and to provide materials appropriate for the students' grade-levels. Following a devastating earthquake in jajarkot nepal in november 2023 nchf was able to provide immediate relief support to the earthquake victims by partnering with a well established charity organization in nepal called help nepal network (government of nepal dao registration number: 690/058/059). Nhcf along with 4 other local community organizations in british columbia: nepal cultural society of bc (ncsbc) hindu buddhist foundation of canada canada-nepal friendship and cultural society (canfacs) and nepal canadian nepali canadian women's society of bc (ncwsbc) worked together to raise funds for support of earthquake victims of ja
