Near North Enviro-Education Centre

The charity established an education centre in sundridge to provide environmental education to grade school children and the public. Lessons cover issues such as measuring the energy consumption of appliances and learning about renewable energy technologies. Public education includes options to reduce energy consumption and understanding of the costs and benefits of such technology. The centre presents workshops information sessions guest speakers and events on topics related to economic social and environmental sustainability. The charity also runs a community adventure program. Cap is a day program for children 6-13 years old. The program consists of lots of outdoor and physical activity. Community volunteers are utilized for some activities. The program provides summer employment leadership training and mentoring for students as well.
