Missionaries board foreign ships arriving in Vancouver Island ports from Duncan to Nanaimo throughout the year to present the sailors the good news contained in the bible. They present gifts such as toques sweaters reading materials and Christian tracts. Gifts are given to the sailors throughout the year including Christmas and contain various items of a personal nature such as pens combs socks soap chocolate bars etc. The way of Salvation is explained to the crew through messages videos and personal testimonies. Sailors are sometimes taken ashore to go shopping make phone calls to families or perhaps attend a church service. Church services are sometimes conducted on board when requested.
