Our family resources programs include family drop-in programs parenting support and education outreach services food security programs school readiness programs for children and their accompanying parents and/or caregivers. Family resource programs promote parenting confidence enhance child development and build community while respecting with widely diverse cultural and socio-economic experiences of participants. Families with young children (0-6 year old) are given the opportunity to connect learn and play together. We provide services to local families as well as specialized services to refugee families during their first few weeks in canada. There are also short term support services for those refugees settling within the lower mainland and longer term support services for those refugees settling in vancouver we operate a school readiness program called 'abc time' to assist and prepare children and their parents to transition to kindergarten we operate several parenting programs – nobody’s perfect circles of security and gordon neufeld classes aimed at increasing parents’ understanding of their children throughout the stages of growth and development we provide home visiting program (outreach services) to refugee families with young children with a focus on parenting in the canadian context as well as early childhood development we facilitate regular baby drop-in program for babies (0-12 months old) and their parent we facilitate a regular dad’s drop-in program on saturday mornings we host several special celebrations each year including winter wonderland a pumpkin patch easter celebration canada day chinese new year summer picnic in the park etc
