MPC’s programs and services are focused on addressing social isolation by designing & delivering physical social and learning activities to enhance overall health & well-being for seniors. Our programs are delivered on a blended online & in-person model. Seniors are able to attend a wide variety of activities 6 days a week and have opportunities to be active contributors and help other seniors in need. To ensure equitable access activities are delivered with active input from seniors use of community-based volunteers collaborations with community organizations and made available in the main ethnic languages and no fee to participate. MAIN ACTIVITIES: MPC Foundation is a registered charity serving older adults and seniors. Our main purpose is to address seniors social isolation by providing comprehensive programs and services to enhance seniors' physical cognitive emotional and mental health. Our programs fall under 4 main pillars namely: Wellness Creativity Learning and Technology. Under Wellness exercise programs such as Tai Chi Qigong Strength and Stretch Line Dance Zumba and Yoga are offered. In addition we offer guided sessions on mindfulness meditation and mental health programs to help seniors deal with anxiety and depression especially during the pandemic. Our Creativity pillar includes such activities as art and craft classes as well as digital art explorations. Under the Learning pillar we offer English classes at different levels of proficiency for immigrant seniors. Also a wide range of seminars on informational topics such as health legal and safety that are relevant to seniors and older adults are offered on a regular basis. Under the Technology pillar we organize classes that teach seniors how to use digital tools such as tablets or iPads. To ensure that seniors can successfully embrace technology we recruit youth volunteers to assist seniors with one-on-one support and in their own language wherever possible. We have also
