Misericordia General Hospital

Misericordia health centre (mhc) is home to the eye care centre of excellence which hosts the largest consolidated group of ophthalmologists in western canada. Mhc is also home to a pediatric dental program performing over 900 surgeries per year. Mhc is proud to house the provincial contact centre a call centre which receives over 550 000 calls each year that can be translated into 100 languages. - a sleep disorder centre became operational in june 2008. Sleep specialist physicians will review about 3 000 overnight studies performed by centre staff in the diagnostic laboratory. The treatment service provided service to approximately 7 000 clients. The sleep disorder centre also houses the provincial long-term ventilation program for over 60 clients living in the community who are dependant on breathing machines. - in addiition mhc is home to 127 transitional care patients in the winnipeg region as well as 100 long-term residents - the prime (program of integrated managed care for the elderly) program daytime spots to allow 70 seniors to remain longer in their homes longer.
