We offer free one-to-one tutoring services for adults in reading writing and math. We offer free one-to-one tutoring and group tutoring for English as a Second Language to newcomers. We conduct an annual poetry contest for middle school students. We operate a community StoryWalk initiative that is open to the public every day from May through October with free admission. We operate a biweekly book club for incarcerated women. We operate a reading program that keeps incarcerated mothers connected to their children entitled Mommy Reads to Me. We operate a 6-week writing workshop for incarcerated women that focuses on catharsis through poetry entitled ReTelling Our Stories. We offer free hands-on cooking workshops to small groups of adults that teach the application of fundamental literacy skills and essential life skills.
