Habitat services (hereinafter 'habitat) aims to improve the quality of life for persons with mental health issues living in habitat funded boarding homes and rooming houses in toronto. Habitat enters into contractual agreements with selected owners & operators of boarding homes and rooming houses and administers a subsidy funded by the ontario ministry of health and long-term care and the city of toronto. Habitat monitors the provisions of quality of care for up to 1001 tenants based on the contractual obligations. Habitat refers and matches eligible clients to the habitat boarding homes and rooming houses. Habitat coordinates referrals from over 170 community agencies hospitals and other referral services. Habitat provides support up to 235 tenants in 8 boarding homes and 2 self-contained apartment units.
