Promotion of mcadam railway station - a national and provincial historic site. Further study research and development of the conservation and preservation plan for the mcadam railway station. Fund raising activities were carried out throughout the year. Additionally artifacts pictures and memorabilia has been collected and cataloged. Tours have been held on an occasional basis which provided an opportunity for groups to see first hand sections of the building including the lunch counter waiting room areas of the hotel and jail. Exterior of the station has been improved and enhanced as well as display lighting added during christmas holiday season. Tourist information centre is operated on site during the months of july august and september. Sections of the national historic site have been renovated and enhanced for tours and preservation. (federal and provincial government assistance has been provided during the past four years). Working to complete a new heating system with support of federal and provincial governments to help make the building more sustainable reduce energy use on heating and allow the building to operate in winter months. Working to expand on existing programs and develop new ones such as a membership program for regular donors new seasonal operations to raise additional funds and new marketing initiatives to increase public interest in the site.
