Matercare is continuing work in both uganda and rwanda providing maternity care through safe clean space for delivery with proper equipment in various regions. Project mbarara in uganda is continuing. Matercare has furnished and equipped st. Claret maternity centre in nyabwina. We are still working to develop small outreach/maternity centres in remote villages where there are no antenatal services. Matercare plans to renovate an unused school next to the sisters' residence and construct an additional maternity ward and delivery unit with trained nurses and midwives along with functional life-saving equipment. We are working on providing maternity services in remote areas of uganda and rwanda where maternity health services is in great need. We are also exploring a new project in islolo. A needs assessment will be carried out to gather further details.
