Markham Inter-Church Committee for Affordable Housing

We strive to engage all micah member churches in ongoing initiatives. We have five strategic priorities: operating an affordable housing project; initiating and completing another affordable housing project; strengthening memberships; engaging and pursuing partnerships; and educating the broader community. We continued our advocacy activities by engaging with the broader community and assisting other community members (richmond hill) to incorporate a new organization to promote the development of affordable housing. In addition we have received commitments from a local developer for a parcel of land in markham and we are negotiating an agreement with the city of markham for housing accelerator funds to support a proposed 161 unit rental housing project
