Maple Ridge Historical Society

1. Preservation conservation and display of community history. Housed in two historic building maple ridge museum and haney house museum offer tours to the general public school and other groups. To further our objective to preserve and protect our community's documentary and material heritage we actively seek donations of origins documents and photos as well as objects whose use or ownership form a part of our heritage story. 2. Community outreach. Given the restricted space in our museum facilities we take displays presentations and walking tours our into the community and its hitoric neighbourhoods. We also maintain a website a blogs a facebook group a photo collection on flickr and twitter and instagram accounts. 3. Interactive archives. This is an innovative program to encourage still-active record producers- such as schools and community groups- to deposit their original records with us for safe-keeping. Since 2013 we have been digitizing non-photographic resources to make them more accessible. No new programs in 2024.
