The Manitoba Buddha Vihara Community Association (MBVCA) aims to offer authentic guidance to the community to enhance its peacefulness mindfulness strength and harmony based on the Buddha's original teachings irrespective of race ethnicity or religion. According to the Theravada Buddhist tradition we introduce the theoretical foundation of the teachings meditation and mindfulness. We provide a wide range of programs to our community weekly monthly and annually. Our well-trained professional teachers (Bhanthes) guide meditation at all levels and offer mindfulness training spiritual counseling chanting sermons and all Buddhist customs to enhance the moral ethics and spirituality of children youths and adults. MBVCA hosted various dhamma sermon sessions for youth and adults throughout the year with assistance from our resident monks venerable Sugathasiri Ratana Amarachana and other visiting monks from neighboring Canadian provinces the United States and Sri Lanka. We conduct the Sunday Dhamma School and language class for children to teach the Buddha’s great teachings along with Sri Lankan Buddhist culture. We have weekly and monthly meditation and discussion events organized for various age groups as well as others hosted by the resident monks. We had a special program to celebrate the Vesak and katina celebration.
