Communicate with municipalities/residents to increase public awareness & provide advice on env. Issues; own over 3800 acres of natural open space which we protect & manage for present & future generations; youth education programs; work with other partners to promote tourism & outdoor recreation; establish partnerships to do restoration projects eg tree planting shoreline regeneration provincially rare habitat restoration; provide flood forecasting & warning program (operating/maintaining flood control structures & monitoring levels/flows on major creeks in watershed); work with neighbouring cas to prepare drinking water source protection plans to protect surface/groundwater supplies from contamination/overuse.
