Look Good Feel Better / Belle et bien dans sa peau

In the face of cancer and its treatment Look Good Feel Better helps people facing cancer feel more like themselves again by educating and empowering them to help manage the impact of treatment. As Canada’s only national program dedicated to ensuring Canadian facing cancer have access to a community of support and information about how to address their appearance-related concerns we know that true health care treats the whole person - not just the physical but the emotional and psychological aspects too. Look Good Feel Better provides supportive health care programming for Canadians facing all cancers and all types of treatment. In our complimentary workshops we provide tools and techniques to address the appearance-related side effects caused by cancer and its treatment including the loss of hair eyebrows and eyelashes dry and sallow skin and the importance of sunscreen and makeup hygiene. Our programs are delivered online and in-person by 800 trained volunteers who are experts in their fields at mower Hn 80 locations in hospital and cancer centres across Canada. We deliver our programs with empathy and equity reflecting and respecting the unique experiences of all. While LGFB began more than 30 years ago with a goal of helping address the appearance-related impact of cancer and its treatment we quickly realized the true power of our workshops was the unique and supportive community created by connecting Canadians facing similar challenges and by providing participants the chance to feel more like themselves again. With this in mind we are expanding our programs within the supportive-care and cancer wellness space. By adding online delivery options we are reaching historically under-serviced communities including those in remote regions of the country and/or other barriers to attending in-person.
