Lionhearts inc. Is a registered charity that alleviates poverty by recovering and providing surplus food and household goods to frontline agencies serving people experiencing food insecurity and homelessness. In 2024 our operations expanded to london ontario joining our existing work in kingston and ottawa. Across these regions we recovered over $10.3 million in food and goods including more than 565 000 pounds of food in kingston alone. These resources supported over 130 partner organizations while diverting significant materials from landfills. Through our community nutrition program we prepared and delivered high-quality cost-accessible meals to shelters transitional housing programs and other agencies. Our student food box initiative supported households facing food insecurity. Our work in shelters in kingston provided emergency overnight beds hot meals hygiene supplies drop-in support and program referrals through partnerships such as the kingston street mission. Our fast 101 program educated educators and first responders on identifying and preventing sex trafficking and provided resources to survivors. A dedicated team of staff and volunteers enabled these programs through coordinated sorting packaging and distribution efforts. Our model empowers partner agencies to redirect their resources to other critical supports while increasing access to basic necessities for vulnerable populations.
