About Life for lives community action centre

Sertão Vivo Project The Sertão Vivo Project is dedicated to bridging the educational gap for children in Brazil’s remote northeast. While public schools exist they often lack basic resources—leaving families unable to afford essential supplies. As a result many children are excluded from the learning process. Life for Lives responds by collecting school supplies in Canada and personally delivering them to eligible students in Brazil. Each year over 3 000 volunteer hours sustain this initiative. A team of Canadian volunteers travels annually to distribute materials build local connections and promote educational equity. With the help of airline partners and donors we ensure these vital supplies reach those who need them most. Heart to Heart Project Through our Heart to Heart Project Life for Lives brings comfort to individuals undergoing breast cancer treatment. Volunteers craft heart-shaped pillows that support physical recovery and offer emotional warmth during a challenging time. These pillows are more than soft gifts—they help ease post-surgical pain while symbolizing solidarity and care. We aim to remind each recipient that they are not alone in their journey. Memory Workshop Our Memory Workshop is an intergenerational initiative designed to promote cognitive well-being creativity and community engagement among seniors. Through storytelling arts and memory-sharing activities participants are invited to preserve their life stories while forming new connections. The workshop encourages mental stimulation fosters dignity and builds bridges between generations—celebrating the rich experiences of older adults and nurturing a culture of respect and inclusion.
