Level's mission is to level barriers to justice by building empathy disrupting prejudice and advancing human rights. We envision a world where every person is treated with dignity can exercise their fundamental human rights and has the opportunity to thrive. We pursue our mission through outreach and public legal education initiatives human right research and events and through specialized mentorship programs. More specifically Level runs a one-of-a-kind national Indigenous Youth Outreach Program that engages First Nations Metis and Inuit youth aged 11-14 through fun experiential and culturally empowering justice education workshops led by volunteer legal professionals. Through Level's Human Rights Program we have student run groups at 10-15 law schools across Canada raising awareness about emerging human rights issues. Level's campus chapters provide leadership opportunities by enabling students to conduct research host conferences and panel events support local community organizations and raise awareness about social justice careers. Level also runs a 'Blazing trails mentorship program' for bright and eager change-makers pursuing social justice careers. Level’s Black Youth Justice Program provides culturally relevant justice education and mentorship for Black youth aged 11-18. Level's Environmental Justice Program is an environmental education initiative designed to empower youth aged 11 – 18 with knowledge on environmental issues in Canada and the skills to advocate for environmental justice in their communities. Level’s Social Justice Fellowship Program helps tomorrow’s lawyers leaders and change-makers to champion social justice causes and make positive contributions to their communities.
