On rock community services operates in the west island of montreal to address food insecurity issues in the community. With the assistance of approximately 30 volunteers along with some paid employees we host the following programs: 1. A food bank that provides food to approximately 300 families every week. This is done through a 'grocery store' format to protect the dignity of the less fortunate. We also provide delivery service to those who are not able to come pickup their groceries due to mobility issues. 2. Thrift it: providing a place to purchase used clothing at very low prices as well as providing free items to those with emergency needs. 3. Le spot: a pay what you can diner providing affordable meals to those in need at a affordable price as well as an opportunity for more fortunate members of the community to help support the organiation by paying a little extra for their meal. 4. Holiday program: a special box of food is prepared to provide our families with the items needed to have a holiday meal. We also provide the families with gifts for the children. The boxes are prepared and gifts collected through the generous outporing of the community at large. We are able to provide these programs with the support of our donors the organizations such as moisson montreal and volla. We also raise funds and food donations through are many fundraising activities.
