Le Bouclier d'Athena Services Familiaux/The Shield of Athena Family Services

The orginazation operates two external services centers and a twenty four hour service shelter for women and children who are victims of conjugal and or family violence. The services are provided by 26 full time employees 12 part time and include multilingual intervention economic assistance legal information home visits childrens and womens support groups. The organization also participates in commitees in the health and social services. It provides french language instructions to immigrants and coordinates multilingual public awareness and community outreach programs. The organization provides assistance to women and children victims with information on sexual abuse the resources. Laws and the police procedure services also given to the victims. The organization provides interpretation translation accopaniment and other support services to women and children victims exposed to conjugal and or family violence. A project on homelessness and victims of conjugal violence and an internship program with the mcgill university faculty of medicine. This year a formal legal clinic will be added so that we can also provide consultations and not only legal information.
