About Langley Environmental Partners Society
The aim of the leps education program is to involve the citizens of the township of langley and beyond in stewardship actions which raise awareness of the natural environment ultimately leading to increased respect for and conservation of the biodiversity of our area. +the langley demonstration garden is an educational facility operated in partnership with the township of langley. The garden was established in 1992 to demonstrate sustainable gardening techniques and sustainable living. The community gardens: through active public participation residents are contributing towards making their gardens a place of comfort beauty and abundance. Food security is a focus. +the leps agricultural stewardship programs aims to work with the community to ensure that the integrity of agricultural practices are maintained while minimizing the impact of agricultural of langley’s streams and wetlands as well as fish and wildlife +watershed stewardship groups meet on a monthly basis to discuss the state of their watershed and make plans for future activities such as stream cleanups restoration activities and attending community events to tell people about issues concerning the watershed they share. +the leps restoration program undertakes projects to restore stream and wildlife habitats thathave been degraded by human activities
