Langley Animal Protection Society

For more than 21 years the langley animal protection society (laps) has been a vital lifeline for vulnerable animals and the people who love them in langley and the surrounding communities. Every day we work to protect the unique mutually healing bond between people and animals - because we know that when animals and their guardians are supported the entire community is stronger and healthier. Within our shelter we are dedicated to caring for and supporting abandoned animals preparing them to be matched with new families. In 2024 we provided safe-haven for 870 animals and our in-shelter programs focus on rehabilitating these animals ensuring they receive the necessary medical care socialization and training to thrive in their future homes. Through our efforts we strive to create lasting bonds bwtween animals and their new guardians contributing to the well-being of both. Every adoption is a carefully considered match ensuring both the animal and their new family are set up for success. Our commitment goes far beyond shelter walls. Through initiatives like major's legacy fund we remove financial barriers to critical veterinary care ensuring beloved pets can stay where they belong - with their families. In the past year alone this program has funded emergency surgeries life-saving medications and wellness care for pets whose guardians faced unexpected hardship. We also operate a year-round pet food bank providing thousands of pounds of food and supplies.
