Lakes District Museum Society

Operating lakes district museum; researching historical topics and genealogies; accepting donations of artifacts to society; collecting and transcribing oral histories; displaying new heritage resources; restoring historical artifacts; digitizing documentary heritage resources; maintaining the museum's social media accounts; assisting other museums with heritage projects; liaising with local first nations on historical topics; operating an art gallery; partnering with local schools to develop local history curriculum; organizing an art contest. Fifteen volunteers contributed approximately 275 hours to museum-related projects. Opened the new heritage art gallery; started the area's first permanent art collection; organized art classes in the heritage gallery; brought in a traveling exhibition from the royal bc museum.
