About Lake Ainslie Historical Society

We continue our programs to tell the history of Lake Ainslie and the settlers - with evening talks; guided tours of the buildings; tourist information about the area and local activities & genealogy provided. We offered programs for local young people to add to their knowledge of the past history of Lake Ainslie. We assisted the local fire department with their yearly celebrations. We continue photographing our artifacts to add images to the database on NovaMuse which is available to the public on the internet. The 1850 home and other 3 buildings (School Display Implement Shed and Artifact Barn) are repaired as needed & open to public. Web site & social media information are maintained. Students are hired each summer and many volunteers help to keep the site open to the general public. The Trans Canada Trail is connected to the site by a short trail. The site is now used as a trail stopping place (information washrooms water etc.)
