LaHave Coastal Conservation Association

In 2024 lahave coastal pursued its corporate purposes primarily through four categories of activity: 1. Lehave coastal continued conservation management of local provate land near the lands that lahave coastal owns. 2. Lahvae coastal also continued its land securement work and expanded its conservation aggregate of habitat lands to more than 500 acres. 3.lahave coastal planted thousand of trees of native species that have been slow to reseed. The organisation also conducted species surveys to document existing species distrubutions and to identify species that have been suppressed by human activities and may benefit from restoration supports. 4. The above three threads of activity focus on the first corporate purpose of biodiversity. To pursue lahave coastal's second corporate purpose of educating the public they hosted group tree planting sessions and tree giveaways of more than 100 tree seedlings. This helped to boost membership and engage the public on the importance of restoring habitats and boosting biodiversity for the public good. 5. Lahave coastal has built its own greenhouse on one of the lands donated and its growing a diversity of trees from seeds that they will plant on the lands donated over time.
