LIFE Recovery Association is a multi-denominational Christian organization focused on providing safe structured abstinence-based recovery programs for women. The First Stage house is registered under Assisted Living for 18 beds. Second Stage Melmar hosts up to 5 clients Second Stage Westerly houses up to 6 clients and Sober Living currently hosts 3 residents. Length of stay varies from months to years depending on the needs of the individual woman. We offer a continuum of recovery care services that include: 1:1 & group counseling in-home and community based activities geared to addressing the cause of the addiction(s) building recovery capital. Program elements include the 12 steps (AA & NA) relapse prevention boundaries problem-solving anger management co-dependency & art therapy to name a few. The association also operates two thrift stores which provides a great opportunity for these women to volunteer gain work experience & gradually reintegrate into society. Over 100 community volunteers are the backbone of the stores. Through the volunteer-client interactions our volunteers gain valuable insight into addictions & the recovery journey. Empathy & insight are helping to change old stereotypes &misunderstanding about the challenges of addictions. Lastly our volunteers stay active engaged & live with a purpose. Together the program & store are a great asset to society as a whole. In 2024 LIFE Recovery Association added a day program providing recovery and sobriety services for those who cannot go into a 24 hour care facility. This program has three sessions per year and can facilitate up to 10 women during each session.
